In the afternoon of September 5, the training ship Smolny of the Baltic Fleet, Russian Navy, commanded by Rear Admiral Semenov Oleg Alekseevich, docked at Cam Ranh International Port, commencing a courtesy visit to Khánh Hòa Province from September 5 to September 8.

Attending the welcoming ceremony were Colonel Nguyễn Minh Lành, Deputy Chief of Staff of Navy Region 4; the Russian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City; leaders of the Khánh Hòa Provincial Military Command; representatives from the Ministry of National Defence’s Foreign Relations Department; and the Navy Command’s Foreign Relations Office. Representing Tan Cang – Petro Cam Ranh Company Limited was Lieutenant Colonel Nguyễn Văn Diện, Deputy Director of the company.

The visit by the Russian Navy ship contributes to strengthening the cooperation, mutual understanding, and trust between the armed forces of Vietnam and Russia in general, and the Navies of the two countries in particular. During the visit, the ship’s command group visited the Memorial for Soviet-Russian-Vietnamese military personnel, paid courtesy calls to the Command of Navy Region 4 and the Naval Academy; participated in sports exchanges with officers and cadets of the Naval Academy, and took part in local cultural tours.

In executing the ship welcoming plan, Cam Ranh International Port coordinated effectively with relevant units and functional agencies such as the Ministry of National Defence’s Foreign Relations Department, Navy Region 4 Command, Customs, Border Guard, Maritime Administration, and Ship Agents to ensure the quality of services provided to the vessel, as well as the successful execution of reception and foreign affairs activities at the port.

  

Previously, on the morning of August 27, the ship KDB Darulaman of the Royal Brunei Navy, captained by Major Mohammad Aliashim Bin Alias, along with 74 crew members, docked at Cam Ranh International Port, beginning a courtesy visit to Khánh Hòa Province from August 27 to August 30. Since the beginning of August 2025, Cam Ranh International Port has welcomed four naval ships from foreign countries for courtesy visits. The reception, diplomatic protocol, and services provided to the ships were highly praised by the crew, military attachés, and agencies of the Ministry of National Defence and the Navy Command.
